Fiscal Year 2025 Notice Regarding the Yatsushiro City Benefit Payment to Assist withSoaring Prices
To support those affected by rising prices of food,utilities, etc., we are providing a special benefit payment to help with soaring prices. This benefit will be implemented using the national government's"Temporary Grant for Regional Revitalization to Support Special Measures againstSoaring Prices."
Overview of the Payment
Eligible recipients
Those registered as residents of Yatsushiro City asof January 1, 2026.
Payment amount
10,000 yen per eligible person
As ageneral rule, the benefit payment for all members of a household will be paidto the head of the household.
Payment period
We will send notices regarding the benefit payment and confirmation forms for bank account information to eligible households by mid-June.
After the procedures are completed, the payment is expected to be transferred to the designated account within approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
Benefit Payment Procedures
(1)Households receiving the "Notice Regarding theBenefit Payment"
For households whose bank account information the city has obtained from past benefitprograms, the payment will be transferred automatically without any further action required.
Eligible households will receive the Notice Regarding the Benefit Payment sequentially.
(2)Households receiving a "Confirmation ofAccount Information"
Households whose account information the city does not have will need to go through the account information confirmation procedure.
The Account Information Confirmation Form (Entry Form) will be sent sequentially toapplicable households.

A.You are eligible for the benefit because you were registered as a resident of Yatsushiro City as of thereference date.
Q.I moved to Yatsushiro City from another city on or after January 2, 2026 (I was not a resident of Yatsushiro City before January 1, 2026). Am I eligible for the benefit?
A.Since you were not registered as a resident of Yatsushiro City as of the reference date, you are not eligible for the benefit.
Q.My child was born. Is my newborn child eligible?
A.If your child was born on or before January 1, 2026, they are eligible for the benefit.
Q.A member of my household passed away on or after January 1, 2026. Are they eligible for the benefit?
A.They are eligible for the benefit because they were registered as a resident of Yatsushiro City on the referencedate date.
If the deceased was the head of the household, the person who becomes the new headof the household will be the beneficiary.
Q.Can someone other than the head of the household receive the payment?
A.In principle, the head of the household will receive the payment, but we planto allow "proxy receipt" byfamily members in the same household or legal representatives.
Q.Can I register separate bank accounts for each household member?
A.As a general rule, only one bank accountper household can be registered.
Q.Is the benefit payment taxable?
A.No, it is not taxable.
Q.I am receiving welfare benefits. Am I eligible for this benefit payment?
A.Yes, you are eligible. Furthermore,child benefit payments are notconsidered "income."
Q.Are foreign residents also eligible?
A. Foreign residents who are registered as residents of Yatsushiro City as of the reference date are eligible for the benefit.
